A residency for you.
FAQs
Who is this residency for?
We accept artists from a wide range of disciplines and mediums to apply for periods of 3 or 6 weeks during our residency seasons. We accept visual artists, writers, poets, curators, sculptors, filmmakers, dancers, photographers, printmakers, musicians, and more. Accepted artists must speak basic English and our selection panel awards residencies based upon artistic excellence of current work and intended proposals. All of our residency seasons are independent and self directed.
Our residency spaces are available to both Moroccan and international creatives based on a competitive application process.
Where will I stay?
Green Olive Arts does not provide housing, however we are happy to recommend housing from among a wide range of options to suit your unique preferences and goals. Almost all of the housing options are within a short walk of the studios in either the ‘new’ or old city. And all of them must pass our strict evaluation before being endorsed by us as a place for our guests to stay.
There are options for private apartments, Moroccan riads, home-stays with a Moroccan family and a variety of hotels.

What are the costs?
Costs range depending on the type of studio you prefer (private or shared), the duration of your stay (three or six weeks), and whether or not you decided to add on any additional services. Visiting artists are responsible for all costs associated with their residency (travel, studio fees and housing/board). Artists are encouraged to apply for outside grants, and we are happy to supply estimated budgets etc. to aide in that process. We work with our artists and their budgets. Here is how other artists have funded their residency.
